About Sossaman Early Childhood Development Center
Higley Unified School District is proud to offer quality early learning programs in our state-of-the-art Early Childhood Development Centers on the campuses of Cooley and Sossaman Middle Schools, which opened in 2013.
Both Centers offer three Early Childhood programs to fit the interests and schedules of all families. Brilliant Beginnings is available for children ages 3-4. We will also offer a Kindergarten Prep program for children ages 4-5 and our Special Education Preschool program.
Classes are taught by certified early childhood educators.

We empower students to be responsible citizens with the knowledge, skills, and work ethic required for success in their future endeavors.

We are excited to announce the Higley Unified School District Governing Board has selected and approved David Loutzenheiser for the role of Superintendent beginning in the 2025-26 School Year. Mr. Loutzenheiser is the current Executive Director of Secondary Education and Athletics for Higley Unified and is looking forward to continuing to work with students, staff and families. Higley Unified School District (HUSD) welcomed more than 12,700 preschool-12th grade students on July 17th for the first day of the 2025-2026 School Year.
