Among HUSD’s dedicated team are educators who began their academic journey right here, as students in the district’s classrooms.

Jack Wiersema, now an Earth 科学 teacher at Higley高中, shared, “I look back on my time with warmth, as I had wonderful teachers who guided me into becoming a teacher myself. 在获得北亚利桑那大学的学位后，我被邀请在亚利桑那州的任何地方做我的学生教学。 I knew I wanted to come back to Higley.”

That same commitment is evident through the 希格利领导学院 (HLA), where 16 graduates have advanced into leadership roles, including principals, assistant principals, assistant directors, and directors. Among the program’s graduates is Michael O’Neal, now Dean of Students at 威廉姆斯菲尔德高中, who said, “HLA challenged me to grow both personally and professionally. It helped me build lasting relationships with educators across the district, and I strongly encourage others to enroll and build their leadership skills.”
