In partnership with the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA), the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Pacific Southwest, Central & Inland California has recognized Williams Field High School Class of 2025 graduate Kendal Bonjour as one of just two high school student-athletes named 2025 BBB Ethical Champions. Through community and self-nominations, high school students are evaluated by a panel of judges for their ability to uphold integrity in the face of ethical and personal challenges, both on and off the court, while participating in sports.
The program recognizes and honors behaviors that positively impact others. Each Ethical Athlete wins a $1,000 scholarship, and Ethical Champions are awarded an additional $2,500 scholarship at AIA’s Champions Gala.
Through a self-nomination, Kendal Bonjour explains how she volunteers her time to coach youth on the importance of ethics when competing in races. Although she struggled with body image as an athlete, she was able to navigate the challenge through positive influences and self-discovery.
“I am beyond grateful to use this opportunity to further my education majoring in entrepreneurship and innovation. I’m blessed to represent the female high school student-athletes with this award,” Bonjour shared.
Kendal is one of this year’s inspiring BBB Ethical Athletes, recognized for her outstanding character, sportsmanship, and unwavering commitment to doing the right thing when it matters most, and she reflects the qualities celebrated in HUSD’s Portrait of a Graduate.
